A peacock rangoli design for Diwali is one of the most searched festival designs. This one is about 2.5 ft wide, takes around 45 minutes and suits a main entrance or living room floor.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Draw an S-shaped curve for the neck and a teardrop for the body on the left side of the space.
Step 2

Draw 7 long feather lines fanning out to the right from the body, like an open hand.
Step 3

Draw a feather “eye” (three nested ovals) at the end of each feather line.
Step 4

Fill the body and neck blue and the feather lines dark green. Fill the eyes from outside to inside: green, sky blue, then a dark blue dot.
Step 5

Add the crest, a yellow beak and white details, then outline the whole bird in white.
Tips
- Draw the neck in one smooth stroke. Short strokes make it look shaky.
- Add a few diyas or flowers under the tail to make it a Diwali scene.
