Muggulu (muggu) is the Telugu tradition of drawing patterns with white powder at the doorstep. This one uses an 11×6 interlaced dot grid and forms a flower with a looping border. It is 2 ft wide and takes about 25 minutes.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Put 11 dots in the middle row, reducing by one per row to 6 above and below.
Step 2

Draw an 8-petal flower around the centre dot.
Step 3

Draw loops around the dots between the petals.
Step 4

Finish with a continuous looping border around the outer dots and add red and yellow dots in the flower.
Tips
- Sprinkle water on the floor first so the muggu powder sticks.
