The most popular rangoli for Lakshmi Pooja is Laxmi feet (Lakshmi paul or charan) walking from the main door to the pooja room to welcome the goddess. This design has a 2 ft kalash rangoli at the pooja place and pairs of footprints leading to it. It takes about 25 minutes.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Draw a kalash (pot) with a coconut and mango leaves at the pooja place, about 2 ft wide.
Step 2

Step 3
Starting at the main door, draw pairs of small footprints facing inwards, one step apart, all the way to the kalash.

Fill each footprint red, with a small yellow swastik or dot in the middle.
Step 4

Fill the kalash yellow and red, and outline everything in white.
Tips
- Footprints must always point into the house, never out.
- Some families draw the footprints with wet rice flour paste using their fingers instead of powder.
