This colourful rangoli design puts a rainbow into one flower: each of its 8 petals is a different bright colour. It is 2 ft wide, takes about 30 minutes, and is a favourite with kids.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Draw a 4-inch circle and 8 large rounded petals around it.
Step 2

Fill the petals in rainbow order: red, orange, yellow, green, sky blue, blue, purple and pink.
Step 3

Fill the centre white and add a ring of rainbow dots inside it.
Step 4

Outline every petal in white and add a white dotted ring around the flower.
Tips
- Keep the colours in rainbow order. Random order looks messy.
- Wipe your fingers between colours so they stay bright.
