How to draw a peacock rangoli
Draw the body first as a long S-shaped curve with a small head and crest. Then draw the tail as a fan of long feathers, either spread out in a half circle or flowing behind the body.
Each feather ends in an “eye”: an oval of dark blue inside green, with a touch of gold or yellow. Draw all the eyes the same size so the tail looks balanced.
Use royal blue for the neck and body, green for the feathers, and a little yellow, orange or white for highlights. Start with the Simple Peacock Rangoli to learn the shapes before trying a big design.
Tips
- Outline every feather in white. It separates the blues and greens so the tail does not look muddy.
- Use a rangoli cone for the fine lines of the crest and the feather tips.
- For Diwali, place diyas along the curve of the tail.
