Drawing Ganesh can feel hard, but dots make it easy. This simple Ganesh rangoli with 7 dots uses a 7×4 grid to place the head, ears and trunk. It is 1.5 ft wide and takes about 20 minutes.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Put 7 dots in the middle row, then 6, 5 and 4 in the rows above and below.
Step 2

Join the top dots into a crown and the middle dots into a round head.
Step 3

Use the side dots for two big ears and the lower centre dots for a trunk curving to Ganesh’s left (your right).
Step 4

Fill the face orange, the ears yellow, the crown red and yellow, and add green leaves at the bottom with a white outline.
Tips
- Practise on dot paper first to learn which dots make each part.
