The lotus is the flower of Goddess Lakshmi, which makes a lotus rangoli for Diwali the perfect choice. This easy design is 2 ft wide, takes around 35 minutes and works well in front of the pooja area.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Draw a wide U-shape for the base, then three tall pointed petals rising from it.
Step 2

Add one more petal on each side, leaning outwards, so the lotus has five petals.
Step 3

Draw two round lotus leaves at the bottom and three wavy water lines under them.
Step 4

Fill the petals pink with magenta tips, the leaves green and the water sky blue. Outline in white.
Tips
- Blend pink into magenta with your fingertip for soft petal shading.
