Most doorsteps are long and narrow, so a round rangoli does not fit. This rangoli design for door entrances is 2.5 ft × 1 ft with a flower in the middle and diyas on each end. It takes about 25 minutes.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Measure your doorstep and draw a rectangle about 2.5 ft × 1 ft with chalk.
Step 2

Draw a flower in the centre, and a diya at each end pointing outwards.
Step 3

Draw a wavy vine with leaves joining the flower to the diyas.
Step 4

Fill the flower red and yellow, the diyas orange, the vine green, and add a white dotted border.
Tips
- Leave a small gap from the door so it does not get scraped when the door opens.
