The hibiscus (jaswand) is offered to Ganesh and Durga and makes a beautiful flower rangoli. This 2 ft design has one big open hibiscus, two buds and leaves. It takes about 30 minutes.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Draw five large ruffled petals around a small centre.
Step 2

Draw the long stamen coming out of the centre with a yellow tip, and two buds on curved stems.
Step 3

Fill the petals red, shading darker maroon towards the centre.
Step 4

Add green leaves, outline everything in white and add yellow dots on the stamen.
Tips
- Make the petal edges slightly wavy. That is what makes it look like a hibiscus.
