A Diwali flower rangoli (phool rangoli) uses real flowers instead of colour powder. This 2 ft design uses marigolds, rose petals and white flowers and takes around 30 minutes. It smells wonderful and is easy to clean up after Diwali.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1

Draw three circles with chalk: 6 inches, 14 inches and 24 inches wide.
Step 2

Fill the centre circle with yellow marigold petals and place a diya in the middle.
Step 3

Fill the middle ring with orange marigold petals and lay rose petals in a zig-zag on top.
Step 4

Fill the outer ring with white flowers and finish the edge with mango leaves pointing outwards.
Tips
- Pluck the petals the evening before and keep them in a damp cloth.
